This cabin packing list works for Czech Mates Escape or any lake cabin rental in Northern Michigan. We'll tell you what to leave at home, what's essential for a weekend cabin trip, and what's nice-to-have.
Cabin Essentials — What We Provide (So Don't Pack These)
Before we get to what you need, here's what's already waiting for you:
Kitchen: Pots, pans, cutlery, plates, glasses, mugs, cooking utensils, Keurig coffee maker, basic spices, cooking oil.
Bed & Bath: Fresh linens, towels, pillows, blankets.
Outdoor: 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards, 1 rowboat, life jackets, private dock, fire pit with seating.
Entertainment: Smart TV with streaming, Wi-Fi, board games, books.
Other: Shampoo, body wash, hand soap.
What to Pack — Spring (April–May)
Northern Michigan spring is unpredictable. 70°F and sunny one day, 45°F and raining the next.
Clothing:
- Layers — T-shirts + flannel or light jacket
- Jeans or comfortable pants
- Rain jacket or waterproof shell
- Warm sweatshirt or hoodie for evenings
- Extra socks (trails get muddy)
Footwear:
